3. Scottish Disability Sport

SDS is the Scottish governing and co-coordinating body of all sports for people of all ages and abilities with a physical, sensory or learning disability. SDS has the vision of leading the development of sport and physical recreation for disabled people in Scotland and contributing to UK and international initiatives. SDS has published a national strategy which will direct the work of the Association through to London 2012 and beyond. SDS lists its major partners as sportscotland, Scotland’s Governing Bodies of Sport and Local Authorities plus Voluntary Organsitions concerned with disability.
SDS has 16 branches covering most of Scotland, reaching from the Highland area in the north to the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway in the south. SDS has a small team of dedicated staff and is enormously proud of the quality and quantity of volunteers and athlete members who play a major part in the running of the Association.

4. Disability Sports NI

Disability Sports NI (DSNI) is Northern Ireland's main disability sports organisation and is representative of the vast majority of Northern Ireland's disability sports club's and organisations. Established in 1997, to tackle the under representation of people with disabilities in sport, the organisation works to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities to take part in and enjoy sport and physical activity at a level of their choice.

9. British Blind Sport

British Blind Sport (BBS) is a national registered charity based in Leamington Spa. Since its beginnings as a registered charity in 1976, British Blind Sport has become the leading voice for visually impaired people (VI) in the world of sport and leisure, both at home and internationally. BBS is a membership organisation open to all visually impaired children and adults. The activities are run by the members themselves, as volunteers, through Sports Sections which include: archery, athletics, bowls, cricket, football, goalball (a sport devised for the blind and for which BBS is the National Governing Body), shooting, swimming and ten-pin bowling. Additionally, we link to information about VI judo, chess, golf, riding, sailing, skiing and water sports. There is active encouragement of those VI people who wish to pursue their chosen sport through mainstream sports clubs too.
