WE ARE A VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION and support children who suffer from Perthes disease and Associated conditions. Fund raising events have enabled the association to buy such things as Major buggies, wheelchairs and moveable seats, which are loaned entirely free to members. They have also bought almost 100 hand propelled trikes which they loan to children in splints or plaster, to enable them to play with their friends.

Legg Calve Perthes disease is an uncommon condition that often occurs only in children aged between the ages of 2-14. It seems more common in boys. Some children develop Perthes in both hips - bi lateral. The blood supply to the femur head temporarily stops working for some unknown reason. The femur head then goes through a process where it collapses and/or flattens and stays this way until the blood supply returns and slow bone re-growth takes place.
