1. Check The Map

This site has been set up to make it easy for everyone to find out what services there are for people with Learning Disabilities/Difficulties (LD) in their local area, or any area, just by clicking the map or typing in a postcode.
Importantly, this gives smaller organisations and individuals the opportunity to promote their valuable services alongside the better known charities and companies. From job opportunities for adults with LD to after school groups, speech therapy to opticians, if it's a Learning Disability friendly service, it'll be advertised here.

4. CHANGE

CHANGE is a leading national organisation led by Disabled People. Most of our Board of Trustees are Disabled People. We campaign for equal rights for all people with learning disabilities.
We employ people with learning disabilities on equal salaries to co-work on projects, campaigns, training and making information easier to understand. This also means that the products and services we offer have been designed and checked by people with learning disabilities at every stage.

ARC - is a membership organisation, which supports providers of services to people with a learning disability to promote real change.
Members' services include daytime and leisure activities, support to people in their own homes, residential services, training for employment, special schools and colleges, staff training and information and advice.

VAMW is a major provider of residential and supported living services for people who have learning disabilities in the Lanarkshire area. We are committed to providing the type and level of care and assistance needed and preferred by the people we support at times that suit each person. This commitment helps us to assist people in reaching their potential and by this we mean that each person is provided with the opportunity to live a rich, happy and fulfilled lifestyle of their choice. To help us maintain our commitment to the people we support we invest heavily in staff development and have successfully achieved the Investors in People award. Our dedication to staff development is also shown by providing the opportunity for staff to have team meetings, monthly supervision sessions and annual appraisals, all of which contribute to our quality assurance policy. More About Us: In 1982 a purpose built "home" providing accommodation and support for 12 people with learning disabilities opened in Motherwell. VAMW House was the founding stone for what was to become over the years VAMW Care - a limited company and registered charity providing care and support to people with learning disabilities in the Motherwell and Wishaw Areas.
