AYME - Association of Young People with ME
AYME(pronounced ‘aim’) is the largest charity for children and young people with ME/CFS, with over ten years of knowledge and experience about how this illness affects children and young people. We offer a website full of information on the illness itself, education and benefit matters, as well as medical options available. We also have a helpline with experienced staff ready to take your call, as well as an online community to meet others and share experiences. Friendship is key within AYME, we know how important it is to have good, understanding friends and how much chronic illness can affect that. This is why AYME offers lots of friendship-supporting services like an online community, pen pals, e-mates, buddies and local get-togethers, all run by other young people with ME/CFS. They are all under 26 and have probably been through similar situations as you. Members also get a bi-monthly magazine packed with young people’s news and views. You can choose to get involved or just enjoy reading and listening to what others are getting up to.
