The Carers’ Forum was established in 1993 as a countywide voluntary organisation of informal (family) carers and ex-carers. As the only peer group in the county, we provide a focus for Carers’ issues and represent them on relevant strategy groups convened by the Health Authority and Social Services. A further part of our remit is to provide information to as many unpaid Carers as possible, hence our compilations ‘Signpost to Services for Carers’, ‘Signpost to Service for Carers – Mental Health’ and ‘Carers Support Groups in North and South Northamptonshire’. Disabled Parents Network is a membership organisation of and for disabled parents. We operate a Peer Support Register that is open to all disabled parents, circulate a Newsletter to members and run a Support Service which is operated by disabled parent volunteers. Disabled Parents Network actively campaigns for improvements in services for disabled parents and collaborates with academic departments and independent researchers on issues concerning disabled parents.
