We meet on the last Monday of each month at the Seahorse Centre, Minehead. Everyone is most warmly welcome!
We are involved in many types of leisure activity including outings. This involves providing appropriate transport - scooters and buggies where possible. We also teach computer skills on our own computers, which have been specially adaptated with screen (speech) readers, screen magnification, voice recognition software and a Braille embosser; this enables members to access the Internet, e-mail, bank accounts, online shopping and many other possibilities.

26. Preston DISC

If you're disabled, or a carer of a disabled person, you may prefer to talk to someone who is themselves disabled.
Preston DISC is run and controlled by disabled people who are trained to provide information.
They understand that you need time to talk about your information needs - they won't fob you off - they'll ensure that you have all the information you need, however long it takes.
Do you sometimes feel that you would like to talk to someone who is independent of other information providers you have dealings with, such as the Benefits Agency, Social Services etc?
All these organisations are experts in their fields - but Preston DISC is totally independent.
There is no charge for information or advice - the service is FREE!
All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence. You can call into the service or make an appointment to see someone privately if you prefer.
The service operates from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm and an answerphone is in operation out of these hours.
