31 Forum of Mobility Centres

What is the Forum of Mobility Centres? A network of 17 independent organisations covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, who offer professional, high quality information, advice and assessment to individuals who have a medical condition or are recovering from an accident or injury which may affect their ability to drive, access or egress a motor vehicle. You can attend whichever centre is the most convenient for you. All Centres offer advice and assessment to people who wish to begin, or return to driving following an illness, injury or accident. They also offer advice with regard to getting in and out of a vehicle and with regard to loading and transporting a wheelchair or a scooter in a motor vehicle. Some Centre's also offer assessment and advice with regard to wheelchair or scooter selection.

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) was set up by Parliament in 1994 to give grants to a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national heritage of the United Kingdom. We distribute a share of the money raised by the National Lottery for Good Causes.
This year, we will allocate around £255 million to projects in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Since 1994, the HLF has awarded £4 billion to more than 26,000 projects across the UK.

34 Cycling for All

Cycling for All (CfA) is a project to encourage and enable cycling using tricycles, which are particularly suitable for people with disabilities and special needs. We have regular sessions at Croydon Sports Arena, where the track provides a safe, flat environment in which to try cycling, providing an opportunity for regular outdoor exercise in a friendly and supportive environment. Croydon's excellent public transport links mean we are easy for people to reach from many locations in south-east England.

35 Disabled Ramblers

We are a group of like-minded disabled people who enjoy being in the countryside, and who get about using paths and trails of all kinds. We are truly 'ramblers', although very few of us can walk more than a few yards! Our membership consists mainly of mobility disabled people and we get about mainly through use of a wide variety of mobility aids, ranging from electrically powered pavement buggies, scooters, powerchairs and, in some cases, manually propelled wheelchairs. We organise rambles of varying difficulty from easy to challenging all over England and Wales, and, along with our volunteers, spouses and friends, each event provides recreation and challenge to suit every taste.

39 Hijinx Theatre

Hijinx Theatre was founded in 1981 by Gaynor Lougher and Richard Berry. The Company’s mission statement is to create high quality theatre which is accessible, entertaining and challenging for small communities throughout Wales and England.
In the spring and early summer we create a play for adults with learning disabilities and their community. We have created many plays over the years on a variety of pertinent themes, starting from the basic premise that people with learning disabilities experience the same emotional needs as everyone else, but more obstacles are put in their way. We have developed a good working relationship with Mencap Cymru who provide excellent advice about topical issues in the learning disabled community. A Background Information Pack is produced for each production with copies left with carers to enable follow up work on the themes of the play.
Each autumn we tour a new production for the general public in community venues for eleven weeks.
